Nigerian Students in Benin, Edo State Students Protest over JAMB Biometric Wahala

We Nigerian students are not happy the Way Jamb marked their result this year, One of the Candidate who wrote to us stated that his result was withheld simply because she didn’t scanned her finger before writing the examination, But when we asked him about what happened, she told us that the jamb officers told them not to worry about the biometric finger print.

To her Suprise, She could not Check here Result due to an Error showing Up "You cannot see you Result, You have no Biometric Verification"..

The Protest was a Serious One in Benin, Edo State.

Nigerian Student urge JAMB to Release their Result, The Biometric Verification Issues was Jamb Fault not Ours, One of the Jambites said.

Do you think if their is an Alternative to Jamb Examination, just like other Exam Bodies in Nigeria, This Non Challant Attitude from JAMB will stop?

Okorocha Speaks: Evil men ’ll not govern Imo again

Evil men ’ll not govern Imo again –Okorocha
From GEORGE ONYEJIUWA, Owerri
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has vowed that evil and corrupt politicians will never again govern the state, saying the people will not allow them to ascend to positions of authority again. This was even as he assured that his successor would be a progressive-minded person and not those who he said were driven by selfish motives and not concerned about the welfare of the masses.

Okorocha who was speaking during a press conference at the WODDI centre in Owerri, to mark the Imo Freedom Day celebration and the second anniversary of his administration, noted that May 6 represented the day that the people of Imo regained their freedom from the bondage of evil men who had held the masses down in poverty and misrule. According to Okorocha, the celebration became imperative to honour the memories of the common people who fought gallantly, with some losing their lives in the process to demand for change and good governance in the state.
He stated further that, “at times due to the pressure and attacks coming from our people who are sponsored to fight Okorocha, I feel like quitting but for the love I have for my people I still continue to move on to salvage the state from the grips of corrupt and evil men. “I didn’t come into power so that people can praise me, or to make wealth for myself but that I might change the life of my people.”
Also speaking in the same vein, the Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere, who was one of those imprisoned during the elections, described the event as a day that signified total liberty for the people of the state. Madumere assured that the Okorocha-led administration would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people. “I was one of those that paid huge sacrifice for this day to be, I was incarcerated and made to suffer unjustly but today we can say that we are no more under bondage, we are truly free.”
The Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, in his speech, noted that in the last two years, the state had experienced great changes across the communities. The royal father commended the governor and his team for remaining consistent with their electoral promise of rescuing the state from misrule.

Pastor Must Offer Sacrifices For Killing Snake – Anambra Community

An altercation has ensued between members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, and Umuoji community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State over the killing of a snake in the community by the Overseer of the Mercy Throne Assembly, Umuoji, Rev Jude Chubueze.

The community believes Chibueze had desecrated the land by killing the snake, as snake killing in the area is a taboo, and they had gone ahead to seal his church with palm fronds. The matter has been taken to the Anambra State Police command which is trying to mediate between the two parties to avoid a breakdown of law and order, and assure a peaceful resolution to it. Reacting on the issue, members of PFN under the aegis of Umuoji Gospel Ministries Fellowship led by Pastor Celestine Ekpunobi, yesterday, described the tradition that forbids the killing of snake as barbaric, adding that such law should only concern the pagans.

Rev Chibueze said a snake stormed his house at night when members of his family were already sleeping. He said he heard his children screaming and rushed there to find a snake where his children had been sleeping. “When I got to their room, I saw a big snake lying with them and I had to kill it and threw it into the nearby bush. The following day, some community members marched to my house and accused me of killing their god. They beat me up mercilessly.
“They wrote a list of items amounting to N54,890 which they said I should buy to appease their god. Being a Christian, I told them that it is against my faith and more over, I killed a snake and not a human being.” One of the community leaders, Chief Paul Edekobi said, instead of the pastor doing what he earlier agreed to do with the community by providing the items, he dragged them to Ogidi Police Station where six of the community leaders were arrested. The Chief threatened that what he did was capable of wiping out his entire family if sacrifices were not made to appease the gods.
“We do not want to destroy his property and that is why we used the palm fronts to tie round the church to stop him from worshipping there for now,” Edekobi said.
But the pastor said: “What they are talking about is not tradition; they see the killing of a snake as a taboo in their world of idol worshipping and not same in Christian faith “If they do not desist from this act, our next port of call will be the court for the enforcement of our fundamental human rights.”

May D & P-Square Reconcile

 photo
Late August last year, pop singer Akinmayokun May D Awodumila got the shock of his life when he learnt he had been dropped from Square records (P-Square record label) due to irreconcilable differences, he screamed blue murder, threatened litigation and countered by launching his own outfit Confam Entertainment; releasing singles and videos. Today, however, these two camps may have reconciled.
Come May 10, this writer has learnt May D’s highly anticipated album will drop and it features PSquare in a powerful collaboration called You want to know me.
The 20 tracked album titled Chapter one also features Tu face in No Body, K-Switch and Olamide in Kigbe and then Davido in Ur Eyes.
May D will be launching his album on May 26 at a live concert in Abuja with Davido, 2face Idibia, Iyanya, Olamide, Jaywon, Reminisce, K-Switch and many others in performance.
On August 21, Square Records boss Jude Okoye had sent out a statement which reads…
I, JUDE ‘ENGEES’ OKOYE of Square Records Limited and Northside Entertainment Limited hereby announces to the general public that Mr. Akinmayokun Awodumila, otherwise known as MAY D is no longer an artiste under the aforementioned outfits due to irreconcilable differences. We at Northside and Square records wish him all the best in his career and life.
The full details of their reconciliation are not immediately clear, what we do know however, is that May D does not intend going back to Square records. Or should he?
